Alternate Day Fasting (ADF) is a healthy lifestyle that is easy to implement, yet can deliver health benefits that can outweigh traditional diets and traditional Calorie Restriction diets.
ADF is one type of intermittent fasting. There are other types, and its important to find the type that suits you best.
Be aware that you should consult your doctor before attempting any kind of fasting diet, particularly if you are under 18 years old, over 50 years old, pregnant, or very overweight.

- Healthy weight loss
- Potentially longer life (lowered risk of cancer, heart disease, type 2 diabetes)
- Better quality of life through fewer illnesses
- Delay the onset of dementia / Alzheimers
Its SO easy to start ADF: Just pick a day (tomorrow is best!), and then just don’t eat anything for the whole day. Remember to drink lots of water. If it gets difficult towards the end of the day, just remember: the next day, you can eat whatever you like!
The first time I had heard about Alternate Day Fasting, was in the documentary by Michael Mosley:
